Frequently Asked Questions

What Do I Need To Provide?

The system comes with all the equipment you need.  All you need to provide are the guests and the movie.

How Long Do I Have It For?

The rental period includes 1 x movie screening. The onsite assistant will breakdown after the movie. Additional movie screenings are available at R750 per screening.

How Large Is The Screen?

Our backyard cinema screen measures 6m wide x 3m in height and 3m in depth.

What Happens If It Rains Or The Wind Is Too Strong?

In the case of any bad weather that does not allow us to screen the movie outdoors we do have an indoor screen option to make sure that the event will still go ahead. If you choose not to opt for the indoor option and to cancel the event, the 50% deposit is unfortunately not refundable but we will extend a discount on the next event should you choose to host an event with us on another available date. We require the full amount for the event 24 hours prior and once our onsite team arrives we are no longer able to offer any refund. The call to cancel the event in the case of bad weather should you not opt for the indoor option will need to be made by 1.00pm on the day.

Can I Play A Movie From A Hard Drive Or A USB?

Whilst the systems have a USB input, we cannot guarantee compatibility of your particular USB or the files on it.  Whilst the USB may play without any problems, we recommend you have a laptop or other device to play your hard drive content.  The laptop or other device will need to be capable of connecting to the projector with the supplied HDMI lead.  Check that your laptop or other device has a HDMI output.

Do I Require A License To Screen A Movie?

You are permitted to hold a private screening on your own property without a licence, however if you are unsure we encourage you to check whether your particular screening requires a licence.  Any public screenings, whether free or ticketed, require a licence.  If you would like to hold a public screening or fundraiser, please contact us for more information.
